Choosing the right time to prune depends on the species of tree. Generally, we recommend pruning trees during the winter months as trees hibernate in lower temperatures. If you cut some species of trees in spring or summer, the wounds this creates can lead to the development of diseases. If in doubt, speak to our team and we would be delighted to advise you. Bird nesting season officially occurs between February and August. However, this is also dependent on location, the species of bird and the weather. We care about our local wildlife and will always ask you if you have seen any birds nesting in trees or hedges where work is to be carried out. We will also carry out our own visual checks at the time of quotation and also on the day of the work. If any active nest is found, we reserve the right to postpone work and reschedule when the nest is no longer active in line with the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981.
